What to say in the face of such a film? The script is masterful (an oscar well deserved). The staging is exceptional. The images, the sound, the music are in tune. The actors are beautiful. It is always interesting to see girls "wicked" friendly, human, and heroic. This is one of my film fetishes.. I saw this film upon its release... I do not deliver. as soon as I find the dvd movie I will be able to see it and revise it and show it to my son whom has read the book for the atmosphere and everything felt memories of this grandmother who hide and who are devoiles effleures smooth..... a true delight... laughing emotion correctness simplicity freshness beautiful images beautiful landscapes, everything is piled together for a film from the heart thank you to the producer and ALL the actors for this film wonderful... to see and review.... Good movie but the book is much more interesting, more captivating than the DVD. I find that it lacks a bit of pace and that the story is not as thrilling and mysterious as in the book. I expect the second tier to possibly revise my opinion. the movie is well played but it lacks many important details that can be found in the book. The epilogue happens quickly in the film whereas in the book AN ASSASSIN ABOVE ALL SUSPICION, the suspense lasts until the very end. That said this is a true story and atrocious and I lived in the region of chantilly at the time, the case had to be well hidden because I do not remember that we were afraid to go out. By contrast, I remember the other killer of the Oise, the first who has killed several young girls, including a book entitled TERROR IN the SUBURBS.
